The Preferred Screening Method For Patients

The OC FIT-CHEK® test is a quick and easy screening method that measures hemoglobin in the patient’s stool. The test can be performed at home with little disruption to the patient’s daily routine.

This Fecal Immunochemical Test (FIT) is used for detecting gastrointestinal bleeding associated with disorders such as colorectal cancer, polyps and colitis. The FIT system screening method provides increased sensitivity and specificity over traditional screening methods, such as Guaiac-based tests.

Guaiac tests, or the card test, require three successive stool samples. These tests also require the elimination of red meat, certain fruits, vegetables and drugs from the diet three days prior to testing.

There are two versions of OC FIT-CHEK to fill your practice’s needs: OC-L (OC-Light) and OC-Auto.

OC-light

OC-L (OC-Light) and OC-Auto benefits:

  • Single sample from one stool instead of three separate specimens
  • Completely closed sampling device
  • Proprietary collection device
  • No dietary or vitamin C restrictions
  • Complete collection and mailing kits available
  • New immunoassay CPT code
  • National Medicare limit: $23.22

OC-L (OC-Light) FIT-CHEK is a manual point-of-care assay that utilizes a dipstick, upon which the chemical reaction takes place and a result can be determined.

Product features:

  • Completely self-contained
  • Results in five minutes

OC-Auto FIT-CHEK is an automated fecal occult blood analyzer.
