Testing Procedure

OC FIT-CHEK® is widely used at more than 100 healthcare facilities across the country.  Customizable patient packs are also available for convenient, at-home testing.

  • Reading The Results

The patented technology of OC FIT-CHEK makes fecal occult blood testing easier and faster than ever before. It only takes two simple steps to complete the testing procedure once the patient has collected their sample and returned the collection bottle for testing.

Unlike other tests on the market, OC FIT-CHEK does not require the use of messy fecal blood cards.

testing step1

Shake sample collection bottle vigorously, then remove the white cap on the vial.
Place the sample end of the dipstick into the sample collection bottle.

testing step2

Read results in five minutes. Specimens with high concentrations of hemoglobin
may produce positive results in as little as one minute.

The appearance of two lines, one in the test region and one in the control region, indicates a positive result. A single line in the control region indicates a negative result. If no line appears in the control region, even in the presence of a test line, this indicates an invalid result.
