Why OC FIT-CHEK®

Better Compliance.

The Immunoassay screening method is the new standard of care worldwide.
Fecal Immunochemical Test (FIT, also traditionally called fecal occult blood test) replaces the traditional Guaiac card testing. FIT does not require dietary or medicinal restrictions. There is only one sample collection, which patients are able to perform easily and with little disruption to their daily routine. Ease of use results in increased patient compliance.

Better Outcomes.

OC FIT-CHEK identifies patients that have lower GI disease and conditions.

FIT testing has improved sensitivity and specificity over the Guaiac method. This improvement directs more of the “right” patients to colonoscopy, leading to the earlier detection of polyps and colorectal cancer. In fact, published literature has shown that there can be as much as a 30% improvement in detecting early stage cancer over what is currently used in the U.S. (The American Cancer Society states 39% of colorectal cancers are detected in the early stage* vs. 66% in Japan** using Polymedco's methodology.)

Better Economics.

OC FIT-CHEK is reimbursed by all major insurance companies and Medicare; it reduces long-term treatment costs, increases practice revenue and saves the healthcare system billions per year.

The healthcare system as a whole saves $15 billion annually treating CRC patients at an early stage.***
